Spír Foundation
Because a job alone isn’t enough.
Expanding opportunity and support for young men reentering their communities.
More Than A Job
For the last seven-plus years, we’ve had the privilege of working with, and learning from, the incredible young men we employ. Together, we’ve logged over 13,000 hours of employment with 65 young men, been featured on multiple news outlets, and witnessed lives and futures reshaped!
SO MUCH GOOD STUFF.
Along the way we’ve learned: a job alone isn’t enough. Our guys need and deserve support that goes deeper. Transportation, housing stability, mentorship, financial literacy, mental health resources. Things so many of us take for granted are often the barriers that make or break reentry.
That’s why we’re launching the Spir Foundation—a nonprofit created to expand the support we can offer. By adding services to employment, we can walk with young men through the full journey of reentry, giving them the tools, hope, and fair chances they need to thrive.
Our Origin Story
Where we started.
We opened Cathedral in 2018 with a simple belief: that people want to help — they just need a place to start. What began as an event space was rooted in a desire to give back and to help others do the same. Not long after opening, we began working with young men impacted by incarceration — offering them work, mentorship, and a consistent space to grow. Then the pandemic hit. Events stopped overnight. So we pivoted — and started making candles.
That pivot became our purpose.
Today, everything we do is centered on creating opportunities: through job creation, peer mentorship, and reentry support for young men inside and beyond the justice system. Our work is about more than candles or events — it's about building stable, meaningful futures.
When you book an event with us or buy a candle, you're doing more than making a purchase — you're investing in real lives. Partner with us — by shopping, booking, donating, or simply spreading the word — and help us turn small acts into lasting impact.
We believe doing something is always better than nothing. And here at Cathedral and Spir, those simple somethings have become big somethings — because of people like you. Thank you.
